Every summer we try to include summer staff roles for students or young adults. This is a great opportunity to pour into the next generation, support our summer minsitry, and help some of our leaders rest and prepare for the fall.
This summer we welcome Vanessa-Djayne Lokonga in a full-time* capacity from June to August.
Her role will support:
- KidsQuest
- Summer Events
- Various administrative, communication and youth ministry needs
Djayne has been growing as part of our church community since the fall of 2025 and has recenlty joined our youth ministry team. She serves regularly with Jesus Nights (Youth Unlimited). She has participated in a year long discipleship program with YWAM in South Africa. She plans to attend Concordia this fall with a focus on creative writing and journalism.
*we are grateful for a 2/3 grant from MCC; their grant covers 2/3 of 12 weeks at Quebec minimum wage; WSG covers the difference in salary above minimum wage plus 1/3 of the total as well as any additional weeks. Djayne will also participate in a 4 day MCC learning experience in Kitchener, Ontario as part of the grant, exposing her to the great work of MCC around the world. We partner with MCC with our annual hygiene kit collection and financial gifts towards their work in Ukraine and beyond.
