Connecting People to a growing relationship with Christ and Each Other.
To be a community of Christ followers: experiencing profound transformation, embracing authentic community, engaging God’s mission with life and purpose.
Following Jesus leads to a transformed life. We’re not interested in measuring our spiritual journey with routine and activity. We long to be whole and experience life to the fullest as Jesus promised. We desire changed hearts, attitudes, and actions that reflect the gospel. We pray and work towards transformation in our city.
We want to be transformed by God’s grace and Spirit…
Are you pursuing and developing a relationship with God?
Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:17-32; Matthew 5-7; Colossians 1:28-29; John 10:10; John 15:1-16; Ephesians 3:16-20
We believe God created us to live in community with others, and that a full life is a life that includes healthy relationships. The church has often been misunderstood as a place to observe. Jesus passionately created it to be a community of belonging. We long to be in community, mutually sharing life together through nurture and support. We believe no one drifts into spiritual transformation alone; God uses people to help us grow in our spiritual journey.
We make room for relationships…
Are you involved in a community group with other Christ followers?
Romans 12:4-9, 10, 13; 1 Peter 4:8-10; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 4:32, 34-35; John 15:17; Ephesians 3:17-19; Ephesians 4:11-19; Matthew 18:1-6, 15-20; Acts 14:27-28
We long to make a difference in our world, locally and globally. We partner with God as we invite people into community, connecting them to Christ and each other. We partner with his mission in bringing hope and healing to the brokenness and injustices in our world. We are sent out into our neighborhoods to be God’s living and local presence sharing the gospel with words and tangible action.
We are caught up with God’s mission in the city…
Are you participating in mission?
1 Thessalonians 1:3-10; John 17:18, 20-21; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:33; 1 Peter 2:4-12; Philippians 2:12-16a
We desire to be real with God, ourselves, and others. There is no value in hiding or pretense. We don’t want people to hide who they are, even if they’re not who they want to be at the moment. We desire our community where confession and repentance are received with grace and love.
We don’t want to pretend…
Are you being real about yourself to God and others?
James 5:16; Philippians 2:3; Romans 12:3
Generosity / Servanthood
We are grateful for everything God has given us. We believe it’s a privilege to give our time, talent, and treasures to God’s purposes. We desire to meet the needs of others around us, and across the globe, using our gifts and abilities in service. We celebrate giving.
We want our lives to bless others…
Are your resources contributing to God’s mission and blessing others around you?
Mark 10:45; Luke 22:25-28; John 12:25-27; 1 Peter 4:10; Matthew 6:19-21, 24-25; Matthew 6:2-4; Matthew 10:7-8; 1 Timothy 6:17-18; Matthew 10:42; Acts 2:45; Romans 12:13; 1 Peter 4:8-10; Romans 12:3-9; Ephesians 2:10; Acts 4:32, 34
Simplicity / Accessible
We hope to accomplish our mission and vision focusing on a few environments and initiatives (gatherings, groups, serving). Our environments are simple enough to engage and accomplish, yet meaningful enough to challenge and inspire. Though following Jesus can be hard, doing church shouldn’t be. We desire to create margin so there’s time for life and mission.
We’re not saved to become busier…
Are you living life with margin and purpose?
Matthew 22:34-39; 1 Thessalonians 1:3; John 10:10
We desire intimate relationship with God. We want to follow God’s leading through our day. We want to look back on our journey and say, “God was part of this.” We depend on God to empower us to fulfill his mission.
We depend on God for his work in us and his mission through us…
Are you depending on God through prayer?
Acts 2:42; Acts 12:5; Acts 14:23; Colossians 4:2-4; Ephesians 6:18; Matthew 6:5-13
